Extra Lesson – Halloween Story

It’s Halloween soon so I have a couple of special features for you. The first of these is this funny music video which I think would be good for lower intermediate learners. There are subtitles to read along with the music. There will be no extra downloads to go with this one.

Next week, there will be a horror story for Halloween as well.

New words

depleting – getting less and less

Are you up for…? – do you want to do (something)

trick or treat – expression used by kids when they go looking for candies on Halloween

dead tired – very tired

call it a night – stop doing something for the day

costume – special clothes eg witch, ghost, vampire, mummy costumes

spooky – scary

ghoul – a kind of ghost that eats flesh

coulda – could have

goo – messy, sticky

poo – faeces

Back in England I rented a car for the first time in three years. I may have to sell my house to pay the gas bill! Ouch! running a car is expensive. I’m grateful I don’t need one in Japan.
