Where in the world would you like to live?
Some people would love to live in the peace and quiet of the country. Others would say the city with all its excitement and activity is the only place to be.
A dream of many is to own a home by the sea while some prefer a cottage in the mountains.
So, how about you? What would be your ideal place?
For me, I hadnt really thought about this question until recently when I visited the town of Kamakura in Japan.
After a day spent wandering around there, I realized Id found my true home. Its a place that seems to have everything I want in a place to live.
Its a small town next to the beach and surrounded by green hills full of hiking trails. As well as this there are many old temples and shrines and quiet hidden corners great for exploring or enjoying the culture. There are also lots of good restaurants and bars and most importantly, its only 30 minutes by train to the center of Tokyo where I can satisfy any desire for lots of bright lights and action.
In fact, Kamakura would be the perfect place for me to live. It has everything I need so what more could I ask for? Well the answer to that question would be lower rent. Like many fashionable spots it is a very expensive place to live.
Oh well, its nice to have a dream and who knows? I might win a lottery some day.
